Bleachbit 4.0 will not remove Google Chrome history

Forums:
Forum tags:

This happens every day - I run BleachBit and an error posts saying Google Chrome history couldn't be removed.
I have to manually follow the path, remove it, then run the app again. This never happened when I first got it. What could be going wrong? I haven't changed any settings or preferences.
Thank you for your help.

Bleachbit unstable builds won't open on Windows

Forums:

I just installed latest unstable build 2.3.1272. The entire installation process was allright, when I run the program it prompts the UAC, I hit on Yes, the cursor implies like it's loading but it doesn't open a window.
I check on Task manager and the process is running (it even shows to be using 50% of my processor) but a window never shows up.

Thanks in advance

Like when I have it do a task like clean, it takes forever and when it finishes it gives you an error.

BleachBit does not erase everything

1. First I used WinHex to look for “this is a test of BleachBit”. It got 0 hits.
2. Then I did a Google search for that phrase. Then I used WinHex again and found 10 hits on the phrase.
3. Next I used my browser to clear the history. Then I used WinHex again and found 5 hits.
4. Then I used BleachBit to “wipe free space”. Then used WinHex again and found 2 hits.

Virus?

Shredding a file after I was done with it to be informed that I couldn't because it doesn't exist. So I tried to delete the folder and the same thing happens. Look at it instead of just clicking, and realize that it's name changed, check it, and it's the same folder, same contents, but renaming itself.

Virus? How do I whack this mole, is this a new way to keep trackers from being deleted or something? This was a web document in my download dir not a system file.

Junction Point Loop Windows 7

Forums:
Forum tags:

Hello,

I believe there is a potential bug in BleachBit.

Windows 7 has a junction point in the AppData folder which basically refers to itself. This is causing infinite recursions to occur of that folder.
For example, I am seeing things like:
Delete 0 C:\Users\***MY_USER_NAME***\AppData\Local\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Microsoft\Feeds\WebSlices~

BleachBit Crashes after update if deep scann is enabled

Forums:

Hello,
i use Bleachbit for several years and a problem occured yesterday after updating with yum upgrade (Fedora 27).
When a cleanning is running, at the end of the cleaning, Bleachbit meet a problem and stop without finishing the cleaning.
If i disable the deep scan options it works again.

Could you please help me to find a solution ? I would like to be able again to perform a full cleaning.

Best regards

Bleachbit hangs for one minute before opening

I think I have reported this issue in the past and never found the cause or solution. That thread is here: https://www.bleachbit.org/forum/bleachbit-portable-v16-wont-load

To be clear, i am using a fresh portable version of BleachBit 2.0. But this started happening with my usual BleachBit 2.0 that I use, just with different options ticked. I tried a fresh copy to check if it was some option i had selected or just a corrupted .ini file.

Good night
In the section of "Internet" (on the left panel of BleachBit), there is an option called Internet Explorer More, it always show me It has 30,5 MB for delete, after hit on Clean it seems to be deleted, but when I hit on Preview I see it one more time. I tried closing everything, but that happens anyway. Thank you.
