Won't clean history in Firefox

Just noticed 0.8.7 and 0.8.8 beta are neither one cleaning history out of Firefox 4.0.1. Thanks

I confirm this is a problem (tested BleachBit 0.8.8beta on Windows 7 64-bit Enterprise, Firefox 4.0.1), and I'll work on getting another beta out soon. Thank you for pointing this out.

BleachBit 0.8.8beta and earlier was taking a conservative approach to preserve records with a Firefox input history---apparently things typed in the location bar (CTRL+L) and search bar (CTRL+K). BleachBit 0.8.8beta2 and later will delete these history (places) records plus the input history (only preserving bookmarks).

I still can't clean Firefox history with BleachBit 0.8.8beta2 . I am using XP sp3. I have all options for Firefox ticked in BleachBit and using secure erase if that helps. Thanks

Thank you for following up. Hmm, a few questions

  1. Do you mean URL history? Or form history?
  2. If you mean URL history, are you sure the remaining URLs are not bookmarked?
  3. Where do you see the remaining history? The history window (CTRL+H)? Location bar (CTRL+L)?
  4. Was Firefox closed while you ran BleachBit? If the browser is open, BleachBit skips the browser with an error.
  5. Are there any errors in BleachBit? These would either be red in the main window or a popup when you close BleachBit.
  6. Are you running a portable Firefox?
  7. Do you have multiple Firefox profiles (if you do not know, then probably not)?

I made a mistake , what was left was bookmarked. I have seen no other errors and am very satisfied with the product. Thanks for your time and expertise.
