Recovered files after using bleach bit

I used bleach bit 1.8 on windows 7, checking all the options to delete system and browser history plus selecting wipe free space. I also used 'overwrite files'.

Then using 'disk digger' (a free data recovery tool that can analyze free space), it was able to recover a large amounts of 'deleted' files.

So I'm wondering does bleach bit not work as intended, did I do something wrong?

Did you verify the contents of the files that they were not corrupt? Were all the recovered files on the same partition as where you wiped free space?
