Pale Moon

Forum tags:

I love BleachBit above all cleaners:- I yesterday for the first time after being a long term Chrome user I tried the Firefox based 'Pale Moon'. For me it covers all the issues that prevent Firefox 9.xx being on any of my PC's & I intend to use it as default. As it is Mozilla based I though BB would pick it up as Firefox as CCleaner has.

This has not occurred despite the array of Mozilla/Firefox reg entries. Anyone any idea how I can fool Bleach into believing my Pale Moon installation is actually a Firefox install? Any help would be appreciated. I use winapp2.ini but Pale Moon does not seem to be covered by that either.

Where does Pale Moon store its files? A typical Firefox profile is stored in $USERPROFILE\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles.

I have the browser to save all history/downloads/cookies etc, & there is a single user on this PC.

The main profile seems to be at :-

C:\Users\(me)\Application Data\Moonchild Productions\Pale Moon\Profiles\

The files/folders can can be erased without affecting preferences are: (there may be more)

C:\Users\N****\Application Data\Moonchild Productions\Pale Moon\Profiles\9ahib0j2.default\search.sqlite

C:\Users\N****\Application Data\Moonchild Productions\Pale Moon\Profiles\9ahib0j2.default\search.json

C:\Users\N****\Application Data\Moonchild Productions\Pale Moon\Profiles\9ahib0j2.default\cookies.sqlite

C:\Users\N****\Application Data\Moonchild Productions\Pale Moon\Profiles\9ahib0j2.default\bookmarkbackups\

C:\Users\N****\AppData\Local\Moonchild Productions\Pale Moon\Profiles\9ahib0j2.default\Cache\

C:\Users\N****\AppData\Local\Moonchild Productions\Pale Moon\Profiles\9ahib0j2.default\startupCache\

Did Pale Moon ever get integrated into Bleachbit? I ask because I'm using the Pale Moon for Linux Port and Bleachbit 1.2 does not appear to be recognizing it. Since the original thread was back in 2012 I would have thought this was long resolved but the linux port is more of a recent thing so maybe up to now it has not been necessary. On linux the profile.ini and the profile folder are located in /home/user/.moonchild productions/pale moon I suppose I could setup a symbolic link that would point a fake mozilla to the pale moon dir but this would prevent you from ever being able to run both and do any sort of performance comparison's.
