The "update uninstallers" option deletes the files necessary to un-install Microsoft software updates. This is rarely needed. I have used Windows since Windows version 3.1, and I have only ever used this option once: at work I rolled back to a previous version of Microsoft Internet Explorer. (The option was not available in Windows 3.1---I think it came later with XP.)
