BleachBit 1.3 beta
BleachBit, the open source system cleaner, announces the public 1.3 beta which includes enhancements, bug fixes, and translation updates. Please help test today.
These particular areas are a priority for testing:
- Google Chrome should clean thoroughly and without errors.
- Firefox should clean thoroughly (see LP#1326626) and without errors.
- Adobe Reader
- GIMP 2.8 temporary files
- Liferea
- Specific to Linux
- Test on CentOS 7
- Firefox cache should be cleaned by the Firefox - Cache option and not System - Cache (LP#1295826)).
- Easytag history
- Links2 (web browser) history
- VLC network streams history (see GH#15)
- Specific to Windows
- Winapp2.ini entries with %ProgramFiles% expand properly on 64-bit systems, so compared to BleachBit 1.2, you may see more Winapp2 cleaners detected. Also, compared to version 1.2, more files should be cleaned.
- Wildcards expand properly in Detect=, so you may see new Winapp2 cleaners compared to BleachBit 1.2.
Since BleachBit 1.0, odd-numbered minor versions are beta releases, so BleachBit 1.3 is the beta release for 1.4 stable.
To look for regressions follow the standard tests on the Testing page.
