- Move GitHub repositories bleachbit-misc and winapp2.ini to the new BleachBit organization in GitHub. More will follow.
Also in January BleachBit has moved web hosting and SourceForge to a new domain (bleachbit.org) and new web servers.
Confused by the 12 in the numbering scheme? BleachBit version 1.12 obsoletes versions 1.10 and 1.8 because 12 is greater than 10 or 8.

BleachUser, did you download
BleachUser, did you download BleachBit-1.12-setup.exe from this site? Did you verify the digital signature is signed by Andrew Ziem? Did you have this issue with previous versions? Which antivirus do you use?
I verified the official BleachBit-1.12-setup.exe download using VirusTotal (report: https://goo.gl/yGURcU) and all 56 virus scanners found no problems, and the SHA256 hash matches the signed hash (https://goo.gl/DrhJPq).
Sometimes antivirus software gives a false positive for BleachBit because I use the UPX executable to save disk space, but please still let me know about the questions above.

Hi Alex,
Hi Alex,
I use your great program since several years now, I got the same alert twice under win7 64bit.
This is under a fresh install, now even if it's a false flag please check because this might really be serious.
I'm not kidding, there is no smoke without fire. Your program is the best and maybe so good that some org is undermining your rep
I only registered now because it's tough and I got put off by your statement "Please use the above resources instead of emailing the author directly."
The SHA under virustotal shows the same result as you posted, yet under my standard user account when I click CMD, please see screenshots on what happens everytime now...

BleachUser (Alex), thank you
BleachUser (Alex), thank you for the screenshot. I submitted one of those files bleachbit.exe for analysis to VirusTotal.com, but currently AVG identifies it as clean. Perhaps there was a recent database update that fixed this. The false positives seem most common when a new version is released before AVG learns to trust the file.
Nevertheless, AVG is popular, so I submitted to AVG an application for Application Whitelisting, so this will prevent false positives in the future.

Just so you know Avast and
Just so you know Avast and AVG are merging and will be becoming 1 big AV now (probably even go commercial maybe?). Until the merging is fully complete, expect both AVs to have some issues (it's common when companies go through merges).
Read about it here: http://now.avg.com/avast-announces-agreement-to-acquire-avg-for-1-3b/
