BleachBit Does Not Overwrite Free Disk Space

I am just making an observation.
This program takes a very long time to "Overwrite Free Disk Space", however it apparently doesn't do anything useful.
I ran a freeware recovery tool ( Recuva ) before and after running BleachBit.
I with the weakest recovery option selected, I was able to find about 35% of the deleted image files on my system ( 6,500+) were recoverable both times.

Did you test with BleachBit version 1.10 on Windows 10 with an NTFS partition?

As for the slowness in overwriting files, Andrew is looking into a way to use mmap for wiping files and free space, which should hopefully improve the speed of overwriting.
