Win 7 installation took over most of hard disk w hidden file
Bleach Bit 1.12 (as downloaded earlier this evening - 8/216/16)
Lenovo P300 Workstation - Win7
My C: drive is 1TB (917GB usable). Total space of programs installed 48GB according to computer C:
But disk info shows only 14,2 GB free out of the 917 GB available. I don't know how to look for any hidden files
that BleachBit might have added.
Did BleachBit take that 880 +- GB as some sort of hidden file (s)?
How do I get my disk space back.

Did you have "Free disk space
Did you have "Free disk space" checked under the "System" section?
Did you stop the cleaning process when it wasn't finished?

Can you try a system restore
Can you try a system restore back to a point before you ran BleachBit and see if it restores your free space?
@Andrew: What if we changed the warning for the "Wipe free space" option to something like "Do not run wipe free space unless you know what it does" or something similar?

I use Rollback on my workstations. Tried to 'restore' to several previous points - the hard disk files change back to the requested date (i.e. Wed 824 at 3PM) - but the disk info still shows 880 GB 'used with no apparent content' - leaving me with only
12 GB free.

In case the disk wiping
In case the disk wiping operating was interrupted, try this to clear it out:
1. Start BleachBit
2. Uncheck everything
3. Under System check Temporary Files
4. Click Clean
Does that help?

The symptoms and resolution
The symptoms and resolution are consistent with an interruption in the "wipe free disk space" operation. About two years ago I put the temporary files in the general cache folder, so they are easy to clean like this. I am glad to hear it worked here. Have a nice day, and thanks for reaching out for help.

that method did not work...
that method did not work... it showed that 120.2MB / 64 files were removed...
but I still have only 14GB of space on a 1TB hard drive with only 48GB of actual files
(windows / programs / programs64 / etc). There is no indication where the missing
800+ GB is.

Try this to search for giant
Try this to search for giant files
If there are residual files from BleachBit's "wipe free space" procedure, which was interrupted, the the files are likely large size, with very very long random file names, and a recent date-time stamp. If you are not sure, feel free to ask again.
Also try rebooting Windows.
Let me know how it goes.

Still confused...
type computer: shows Hard Disk Drives
Windows 7 _OS (C:) 18.5GB free of 917GB
ran chkdsk in read-only mode as admin:
962.071 GB in total disk space
101.796GB in 146999 files
0.0871 GB in 32148 indexes
0 GB in bad sectors
0.3511 GB in use by the system
0.0655 GB occupied by the log file
859.836GB available on disk
***converted from KB to GB
4096 bytes in each allocation unit
240517887 total allocation units on disk
214959182 allocation units available on disk
any ideas why computer C: shows only 18.5GB free while chkdsk shows 859.8GB?
which is true?

Have you tried rebooting
Have you tried rebooting Windows? This is the next step. If that does not help, we can try something else.
