BleachBit, the open source system cleaner, announces the public 1.0 beta which includes enhancements, bug fixes, and translation updates. Please help test.
These particular areas are a priority for testing:
- Clean Adobe Flash
- Clean Octave
- Clean Warzone 2100
- Clean Google Chrome History
- Run a command line like this to delete a specific file or folder:
bleachbit --shred /some/filename - Specific to Linux
- Clean SQLite3
- Specific to Windows
- Verify the installer is digitally signed
- In the portable edition, verify
bleachbit.exeis digitally signed. - Clean VLC recently played
- Install BleachBit, open Windows Explorer, right click on a file or folder, and choose Shred with BleachBit. (This doesn't work with BleachBit Portable.)
- Delete winapp2.ini from the settings folder, set BleachBit to download it, and restart BleachBit. BleachBit should load winapp2.ini without restarting BleachBit.
- Clean Google Chrome cache
