BleachBit 0.9.4beta
BleachBit, the open source system cleaner, announces the public 0.9.4 beta which includes enhancements, bug fixes, and translation updates. Please help test.
These particular areas are a priority for testing:
- Test on Ubuntu 12.10.
- Test on Fedora 17.
- Test on openSUSE 12.2.
- Test on Microsoft Windows 8.
- In the preferences open the Custom tab, and add files or folders. Then clean System - Custom, and verify the files are removed.
- Clean the latest version of Google Chrome.
- Clean the latest version of Firefox.
- Wipe the free disk space on a FAT32 partition with >4GB free disk space.
- Windows: Manually update winapp2.ini by downloading from here and copying to %AppData%\BleachBit\cleaners\, restart BleachBit, and verify winapp2.ini loads correctly.
- Windows: Clean System - Logs.
- Windows: Clean Internet Explorer - History.
- Windows XP: Clean Windows Explorer recent documents.
To look for regressions follow the standard tests on the "Testing" page.
Bugs
Remember: beta releases are more likely to contain bugs and are recommended only for testing. Use with caution. Report any bugs to the bug tracker or forum.
