Launchpad's host site's Terms

Forums:

Andrew mentions the best place to post about bugs is on Launchpad. Agreed, but I'm curious about parts of their Terms & Conditions https://login.ubuntu.com/terms/.
It is Canonical Group Limited's issue, not BleachBit's, but the wording is extremely broad & some users may be interested. AFAIK, any site's TOS and Privacy Policy are completely separate.

"The information collected may include statistics relating to how often data is transferred, and performance metrics in relation to software and configuration."

What data, and what "performance metrics" of what software and what configuration? If it doesn't specifically identify it or rule it out, anything's fair game.

Their Privacy Policy https://login.ubuntu.com/privacy/, mentions certain specifics on what's gathered, but never discusses "statistics relating to how often data is transferred, and performance metrics in relation to software and configuration." Legally, this could mean almost anything.

Yeah, that is broad. It probably refers to something other than use of LaunchPad to file bugs.

If you do not use Ubuntu and you do use Launchpad (to file bugs for BleachBit), then they will not have access to much information. Otherwise, Canonical and Launchpad do not have access to your operating system or your use of BleachBit.

I sent emails to both contact addresses mentioned in the Terms & Conditions / Privacy Policy, asking to clarify or improve wording on some of the extremely broad & vague statements.
I believe that they are separate "legal" documents, not intended to clarify & define one another (if wrong, I stand corrected).

Some of the statements & phases are so vague or ambiguous, they have little meaning to many end users.
