Issues with modifying Winapp2 entries

Forums:

So, I was modifying some WInapp2 entries, and as I was modifying, normally you shut off the automatic update of Winapp2 entries, well I did that and no matter what I do to Winapp2, if I am adding or removing entries, BleachBit seems to take it as if the Winapp2 file no longer exists. The Winapp2 entries get removed from BleachBit and I have to re enable the auto updater to get the Winapp2 restored. I don't know if this issue is just on Windows 10 systems.

So you mean after editing, all of the entries from BleachBit do not show up in BleachBit? The likely cause is file corruption. You can confirm by saving your winapp2.ini to another name and then restoring the "vanilla" winapp2.ini from https://github.com/az0/winapp2.ini

No I mean, when I edit the Winapp2 file to make changes, no matter what I do to it, the Winapp2 entries only will not show up in BleachBit anymore, as if BleachBit thinks the file got remove. The default BleachBit entries will remain, though.

This could mean the winapp2.ini has a syntax corruption, and there are few options to help with diagnosing it. (Please pick one option at a time.)

1. Rename the modified file and replace it with an unmodified winapp2.ini . If the unmodified winapp2.ini loads, something is wrong with the modifications.

2. Alternatively, leave the modified winapp2.ini and either run the bleachbit_console.exe instead of the normal bleachbit.exe OR use the following command to generate a debug log
"%ProgramFiles(x86)%\BleachBit\Bleachbit.exe" --gui --debug-log=%USERPROFILE%\desktop\bleachbit.log

3. Email me the modified winapp2.ini

Ok so here's my results:

1. I modified a Winapp2 by just removing the Crash Report entries for Mozilla FireFox. As expected, the Winapp2 entries were gone from BleachBit. I decided to rename the modified file to win2.ini and threw a unmodified Winapp2 file there, too (assuming this is what you wanted me to do). The unmodified Winapp2 file loaded.

2. I ran the BleachBit_console.exe and only the default CleanerML entries from BleachBit popped up (sorry it wouldn't let me copy and paste it). I then ran the "%ProgramFiles(x86)%\BleachBit\Bleachbit.exe" --gui --debug-log=%USERPROFILE%\desktop\bleachbit.log command, but it reported back "File not found"

If I did anything wrong, let me know. No log files were generated either, so I don't have anything to email you with. If you want to do a remote session, I am willing to do so.
