Google Chrome error in BB 1.4

Forums:

I have BleachBit version 1.4.
I have the same glitch to report as I already found in previous versions.
I have both “ordinary” Google Chrome (32 bit) and Google Chrome Canary (64 bit) installed on my system (Windows 8.1 x64 with all updates).
Whenever I run BleachBit and press “Delete”, and I haven’t used the 32 bit Chrome browser during the current session, I systematically get the following message:

Error:
Clean file 0 C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\UserData\Default\databases\Databases.db
no such table: urls
no such table: meta

I don’t get this error message when I have actually used the 32 bit Chrome browser.
This is understandable, but it seems BleachBit could check if some Chrome element is present, and report no error if it is missing.

Sorry for the slow reply, Robert. There were some fixes in BleachBit 1.6 that should have taken care of this. If not, please let me know.

This is still happening with version 1.6. If you give me an email address, I could send the log file containing the error messages.

Here is the log message I got today:

After you run a cleaner, is the file still present in the directory path where the error is?

I also noticed another bug in your log file:

Vacuum -1kB C:\Users\Administrateur\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\History

It is reading -1KB. It's probably harmless but thought I'd let you know.

Databases.db is still present in C:\Users\Administrateur\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\databases\ after I have run BleachBit.

However, C:\Users\Administrateur\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\History is absent from my system.

Thanks for testing it out. I figured the -1Kb message was harmless. Still it should be fixed so people don't get confused.

Hi Robert,

Thank you for trying with version 1.6. I would like to figure this out. I tested, but I could not reproduce it, so would you please send me a few more pieces of information?

1. The version of Google Chrome (visit about:)

2. BleachBit system information available by clicking Help - System Information in BleachBit

Please either email it to me directly using the blue link with my name at the bottom of any page on this site, or attach it to a new bug ticket on Launchpad.
