BleachBit error log

Forums:

I keep getting this error in the log every time I exit BleachBit. All I do is open and close it and the error pop ups in the log file. I am on Windows 7 x64 SP1 running BleachBit in 64bit. This is what it says in the log file.

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "bleachbit\Winapp.pyo", line 116, in __init__
File "bleachbit\Winapp.pyo", line 154, in handle_section
File "bleachbit\Windows.pyo", line 223, in detect_registry_key
File "bleachbit\Windows.pyo", line 410, in split_registry_key
RuntimeError: Invalid Windows registry hive 'HKCUSoftware'

This means there is an invalid entry related to the registry in the Winapp2.ini file. Try searching for the string "HCKUSoftware"? If that doesn't work, run bleachbit_console.exe instead of bleachbit.exe in case there are more helpful messages.

Thanks for the reply Andrew. There is no valid registry key detected in the registry. The BleachBit_console.exe doesn't say anything more than that.

Looking at the latest winapp2.ini at winapp2.com, I think it's this line:

[Bing Health and Fitness*]
LangSecRef=3031
Detect=HKCUSoftware\Classes\Local Settings\...

Notice it is missing a slash after HCKU.

Also it doesn't like something in [Store*] 's FileKey13
FileKey13=%LocalAppData%\Packages\WinStore_*\LocalState\Cache|*.*|RECURSE
One of the items that entry removes has some symbols like: "∺∯∯"

I have found the issue in winapp2 and will be set the next winapp2 update.

I didn't not see anything wrong with Filekey13 as you reported bsodx2. I am using a different version then what you so it was fixed in a future release already.
