problem with translating

Forum tags:

I wanted to translate the software interface without using the launchpad and I tried to do it directly by manipulating the source code. I tried to translate the for example APT part and it's sub domains in the apt.xml file and run the program after changes the following error comes up :
info: remembering CleanerML file '/home/mandbigs/Desktop/bleachBit/bleachbit-1.0/cleaners/apt.xml'
and all my modifications discarded and the interface does not change .
I need to translate the software into persian . can someone help me with this ?

Updating the .po files through LaunchPad is the best process for translation and is the only process that I can sustainability support for 60+ languages, so I wonder what kind of problems you are having? Already half of BleachBit is translated to Persian through LP.

The note "remembering" is more of a warning than an error. It's just letting you know the files have changed, and the GUI should give you an option to accept the changes.

You should make sure you don't have another copy of apt.xml in some other place like /usr/share/bleachbit/cleaners/

thanks dear andrew . changing the "/usr/share/bleachbit/cleaners/" files worked for me.
I downloaded the .po file and applied the same process that you mentioned in and tried to see the translations in context. but it didn't worked . is there a more detailed tutorial to do this? if it exists I will be so glad to know about it .

The Persian translations were last updated in May, so BleachBit 1.2 shipped on June 8 with all the Persian translations that are in Launchpad. In other words, if you have BleachBit and download the translations today from Launchpad, you will be getting the same data as BleachBit 1.2.
