Test BleachBit 0.8.0 beta
Please test the new BleachBit 0.8.0 beta which with new features, bug fixes, and translation updates. In particular, please test:
- Click Edit - Preferences. Then open the Whitelist tab. Click Remove when nothing is selected, and nothing should happen. Add files and folders, and notice they remain even when BleachBit is restarted. Remove entries, and notice they do not reappear when BleachBit is restarted. Then try to clean files that are whitelisted, and notice in both the preview and in the delete operation, these files are marked as "Skip" in the log window.
- Try the Farese translation.
- Linux
- Delete recent documents in GNOME 2.28 - 2.30 (e.g., Ubuntu Karmic Kaola and Lucid Lynx)
- Clean Thunderbird 3 as found on Ubuntu Lucid Lynx 10.04.
- Test under Fedora 13 and Lucid Lynx.
- Windows
- Test with various anti-virus programs: BitDefender, AVG, McAfee, Symantec Avast, etc.
To look for regressions follow the standard tests on the "Testing" page.
Bugs
On Windows in the Preferences dialog, BleachBit does not use the native Windows file dialogs: instead you will see the GTK+ dialogs.
Remember: beta releases are more likely to contain bugs and are recommended only for testing. Use with caution.
Report any bugs to the bug tracker.
