bleachbit is a great tool, but it lacks one feature when deleting temp files. there should be an option to delete tempfiles only when they are older than xx hours or days.
except for that i am happy with the functions. if i could add that funtionality myself i am open for tipps whre to add this.

I've just used BleachBit for the 1st time. So far I'm impressed w/ what it finds - for the ADMIN ACCT used in Vista, to allow installing Bitbleach.

At 1st, could not imagine why it wasn't finding anything for the user acct currently active (and only acct logged on to in Vista).
As you know, lauching BB prgm brings up the UAC screen. Since there's NOTHING mentioned in any help file, documentation, etc. (AFAIK), that in order to find files to be deleted under a limited user acct, you simply have to hit "Cancel" on the UAC screen, asking for an admin PW.

You have a cleaner called Silverlight but it's not loaded unfortunately. I'm a n00b but I think I found something...
Is this correct? When two cleaner xml file has the same cleaner id than only one of them will be loaded...
In the Silverlight xml file there is this line:
<cleaner id="windows_media_player" os="windows">

I changed this to:
<cleaner id="silverlight" os="windows">
and it works like a charm :)

Suppose I want to delete everything without a preview. There should be a way to do this from the command line in windows for batch file support.

something like:

bleachbit_console.exe -d *.*

or even:

bleachbit_console.exe -ini BleachBit.ini -d

To delete everything checked (True) in the ini file.

You can't possibly expect a script to go through each possible cleaning option.

When started - it crashes immediately wit h this message:

This is portable version. I just tried BleachBit for the first time.
Computer runs WXP SP2. I don't use antivirus programs.

I have full Admin rights, this error message (159 times) only started appearing after Bleachbit last upgraded.
Any ideas as to why?

hi, read the help and forums - i am simply looking to run bleachbit from a batch file. i want to to delete evereything that i have selected in the gui. ccleaner does this by

"C:\Program Files\CCleaner\ccleaner.exe" /AUTO

is their a similar switch? or how would i do it?

If you uncheck translations you get the following error when you start the application.
unchecking translations suggests that "other then English" translations are not installed and that all needed files for the chosen/default language are available.

Hello I noticed that the Windows version runs in to the VirtualStore if it tries to save the bleachbit.exe.log
C:\Users\\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\BleachBit

It would be nice if it would follow MS guidelines and write it to %AppData%\BleachBit\bleachbit.exe.log to prevent Visualization.

I just noticed there is no cleaner for VLC media player available, so I thought about making one. Then I found the reason why there might be none: VLC stores the list of recent items in an ini file. The file looks like this:
