Hi,
I have a problem a little irritating with only the last version of BleachBit (1.10).
When I launch the program (with icon launcher), I have a prompt (or an alert saying :
'a new version is available' and 'update to version 1.10' or close. Anything I try to do, I have the alert prompting.
I noticed that in the configuration file (bleachbit.ini), the shown version is 1.9.4, that is a little disturbing. I have had never this problem before, and worse than that, I have no problem with another PC. Have you a solution to solve this intriguing problem?
Bleachbit is hiding the cleaner for gimp on my machine and I can't figure out why. Gimp is installed ( version 2.8). Bleachbit also says it's hiding the cleaner for MidnightCommander...but when I look in /usr/share/bleachbit/cleaners there is no cleaner for MidnightCommander.
I am running Bleachbit 1.8 on an updated Debian Stretch/Sid.

This has been going on for quite some time now, and I'm sorry to say that I never bothered to report this one. For how many Ubuntu versions and Bleachbit versions, some sort of error pops out in red after cleaning. I checked Gparted, and Bleachbit was able to disable the swap, but it did not enable the swap when done cleaning. This may or may not affect other Linux distros. I'll edit this post or comment with the exact error. As before, let me know if you need additional info for debugging the issue.
When I try to run BleachBit on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, I don't get beyond the preview. It gets as far as "Previewing LibreOffice" and then it freezes and the monitor turns grey. When I then try to close the window, I get a message to the effect of "Program not responding" and I have to force quit. I heave tried installing and uninstalling from both the Ubuntu software repository and SourceForge numerous times, along with countles reboots, and have tried from administrative and nonadministrative accounts. Any advice? I am a neophyte home user.
In general, I love the program. But so far I haven't found how to completely remove a URL from within Firefox's memory. I have all options checked within BB for Firefox. However, after having run BB, if I type a URL -- for a site I've directly typed in the past -- into the address bar, Firefox remembers the hostname. It doesn't remember all the pages I've been to, but it does remember the domain. This seems a little insecure. How can I totally clear the History with BB?
I've just taken up BleachBit (BB), and it's thoroughly impressive. I probably also probably have made my first serious mistake. I'm posting to get response(s) from those more experienced than I so I can decide what to to do next.
I dual-boot Windows Vista and Kubuntu (KB) 13.10 on one computer, and KB 13.10 alone on 3 others. I've run BB three times now - once on one of my KBs (as user acct.), and twice on Vista (as admin, then as user). No problems.
We have this workstation HP Z600 with dual boot in Linux (CentOS6) and Windows with Memory 1Tb.
We mostly operate the system in CentOS in order to support our software products. Before running Bleachbit software we had about 400 GB data and 600 GB free space. While running Bleachbit software, we accidentally checked the option for "wipe Free disk space and Swap Memory." After the process is complete, we have warning low memory notification and unable to run any software. Is there anyway to recover the 600GB of the free space and make it usable like before.
