Hi ... thanks for this great software. I am running v2.0 on Ubuntu 18.04. My disk is set up with partitions for:
- / (root)
- swap
- /home
Question 1:
When go to Preferences / Drives to set the wiping folder, I can see it defaults to a folder in /home. For added security, should I also be specifying a folder in the / partition?
Question 2:
Am I right in thinking that Wipe Free Space will automatically wipe the swap partition?
Thanks!
Think that I "jumped the gun" and installed Xubuntu 16.04 without checking if my favorite softwares are available. Can I install a BB v1.10 copy made for an earlier version of Ubuntu? And if yes, do I need to do anything special?
Thanks

This has been going on for quite some time now, and I'm sorry to say that I never bothered to report this one. For how many Ubuntu versions and Bleachbit versions, some sort of error pops out in red after cleaning. I checked Gparted, and Bleachbit was able to disable the swap, but it did not enable the swap when done cleaning. This may or may not affect other Linux distros. I'll edit this post or comment with the exact error. As before, let me know if you need additional info for debugging the issue.
By mistake, first I installed from Ubuntu repositories and received BB 1.0. Then, updated it to 1.8. I think it's time you should submit a newer version. to ubuntu :-)

It never did fully, (always left "dconf") but now it leaves:
/home/[username]/.cache/mozilla/firefox/[profile name]/{cache data}, and
/home/[username]/.cache/thunderbird/[profile name]/{cache data} !
Also FWIW, BB never did delete:
/home/[username]/.adobe/Flash_Player/AssetCache,
and it leaves an "InstallTime..." file in
/home/[username]/.thunderbird/Crash Reports

When I try to run BleachBit on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, I don't get beyond the preview. It gets as far as "Previewing LibreOffice" and then it freezes and the monitor turns grey. When I then try to close the window, I get a message to the effect of "Program not responding" and I have to force quit. I heave tried installing and uninstalling from both the Ubuntu software repository and SourceForge numerous times, along with countles reboots, and have tried from administrative and nonadministrative accounts. Any advice? I am a neophyte home user.

In general, I love the program. But so far I haven't found how to completely remove a URL from within Firefox's memory. I have all options checked within BB for Firefox. However, after having run BB, if I type a URL -- for a site I've directly typed in the past -- into the address bar, Firefox remembers the hostname. It doesn't remember all the pages I've been to, but it does remember the domain. This seems a little insecure. How can I totally clear the History with BB?

When I try to install bleachbit-bonus (0.8.2) on Linux Mint 13 LTS (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS), I get this error message:
"trying to overwrite '/usr/share/bleachbit/cleaners/sqlite3.xml', which is also in package bleachbit 1.0"
Does this mean that bleachbit-bonus is in need of an update / repackage?
bleachbit-bonus might as well be set to version 1.0 now, since it has been so long.

Hello,
I am currently running version 0.95 of bleachbit and when I try to clear the history of Google Chrome I keep getting the following error message:
"no such column: image_data: /home/username/.config/google-chrome/Default/Favicons"
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Kind regards.
System Used: Ubuntu 12.04 (64-bit)
Google Chrome version: 24.0.1312.52 (but the error was present for all previous versions used).

When I run the BleachBit, I see the error message below :
Unsupported special file type: '....../.cache/gnome-system-monitor.physics.2031380257'
It seem to be a bug, so I updated from "BleachBit 0.9.1" to "BleachBit 0.9.3beta" today (11/19/2012).
And I run it again, but it still does not erase "gnome-system-monitor........" file in ~/.cache directory.
The file is a socket file and it seems not be able to delete socket files. Please fix it.
